About

I never imagined that my dream of becoming a published author would come true, I still pinch myself every day! The sight of my novels sitting proudly on my bookshelf makes me burst with happiness. When I started writing I was a full time primary school teacher.  I wrote whenever possible in my free time and holidays. I first attempted to write a novel when I was at university. I was studying Italian and History of Art at the University of Edinburgh and I spent many an hour escaping into imaginary worlds rather than doing my ‘proper’ work! After a second failed attempt, this time at writing a children’s book whilst living in Rwanda with little else to do of an evening other than write, I thought I would probably give up on the idea of becoming an author. But then one day several years later, I had an idea that really took flight; I decided to put pen to paper once again (or finger tips to keyboard) and before I knew it my first novel, JUST THE TWO OF US, had emerged! It was published in February 2017 by Aria, an imprint of Head of Zeus, Bloomsbury.  It was a busy month for me as I also became a mum and continued editing my second novel, ONE SUMMER IN POSITANO, which was released by Aria in August 2017.  I wrote my third novel, THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US, while I was on maternity leave with my daughter and it was published in July 2018.  Over the last seven years I have worked on my fourth novel whilst having two more children and continuing to work part-time as a primary school teacher.  THE LOVE I WISHED FOR will be published by Pellerin Books in May 2026.  I am currently working on my fifth novel.
